Default Oil Change

I know on my previous cars (Hondas) I got a notification (usually was a picture of a wrench on the dashboard) to notify me when an oil change is required - or coming near.

Does the RC F sport have this setting? I currently have 4,700 miles or so on it and haven't seen anything yet.

You'll get it at like 4,800 or something near the 5k mark. I had mine

But 5K service isn't an oil change, it's mainly just inspections but it will warn you every 5K (after reset) anyways. First oil change is at 10K which is also free.

Seriously? I've always done oil changes on my cars at 5k intervals. Wonder why the RC is at 10?

You can change it to remind you to change the oil at 5K as it's an option in the setup.

That is the way most cars are going today. Since they use synthetic oil the change frequency is less often. All 3 of my cars use synthetic but each has a different weight. The most odd of all is my new F Sport which is 0-20W which I have never seen before.

Default 0w-20 is quite common

My wife's 2010 RX350 and my 2013 CT200h both use 0w-20 with 10k mile or 12 month change intervals. My 2006 SC430 recommends 5w-30, I use 0w-30 synthetic and change it once a year.

My dealer told me to bring my car in after 1,000 km for an oil change and general inspection. This is complimentary. After that, he said the oil needs to be changed every 10,000km.

He said he had programmed these intervals into the car so it would remind me when the time comes.

Just had my first oil change.

Odd thing was I received the notification when I hit 5000 miles..not a warning prior.

I thought this was odd.

According to the manual, the RC 350 requires 0W-20 but the RCF uses 5W-30.

Had to read this thread from start to finish after seeing a couple of spews......don't post much so my opinion means little on this board. Really shocked at some of the answers from folks that I have always felt were very tuned in. ANYONE that would say that dino was as good as syn in most cases is just mis-informed. Before making statements like that one should sit down and read the test results, which are facts. Synthetic oil out performs dino in EVERY test element and anyone that professes otherwise is just spewing
