From the Launch of the 08' IS-F... They are indeed functional as they extract excess heat from the engine bay... (While Driving)

"The Lexus IS F's wedge-like profile is accentuated by functional front fender air outlets with lower edges that transition into larger rocker panels and continue as a character line into the rear bumper. The front fenders wear a discrete silver, black and blue "F" marque."

Everything on this RC F will be functional... The hood vent testing is straight off the CCS-R and the active rear wing is a spin on the LFA technology..

This show car is on coilover so they can show it at any height they want, nice I am sure the production car will be back on regular springs with higher ride height.

they did the same trickery when introducing the SC430...using spacers on the wheels to indicate a wider/more flushed setup when in fact, it was sunken.

anywho, even if it is raised a bit for production, nothing a set of aftermarket springs/coilovers can't fix

and found that out a bit after Joe-Z, thanks for the source on the IS-F vent

Yeah I really like it. I think everything is exceptional except maybe the grill, but the grill is slowly growing on me. Slowly...

Very slowly....but growing nonetheless.

Not true with their NA V8. M3 consistently dynoed in at 290-310 whp and the isF dynoed in at 335-350whp stock. Factory claims on both are 414 and 416 hp

Lexus have done that on just about every show car they had, they were all severely lowered and some of them have wheel spacers to flush out the stock wheels. The 1st model I remembered was the 98' GS400, that thing was slammed! Then SC430, IS-F, 4GS.........just about all of them. But to be fair, most maunfacturers do it now a days, look how slammed the 458 Spider show car was compare to the car in the showroom!

Yeah is not a huge deal. In a way the show car show us how the car look after we lowered it

Weight will be key for the RC F...I hope they can keep it around 3,500 lbs or less. Still waiting for official power numbers too, but at least we know the Lexus will have a significant horsepower advantage.
Don't forget the M4 competition package will have 450 hp. The RC-F won't be much lighter then the current 3860 lbs IS-F, I would be pleasantly surprise if the RC-F comes in at 3700 lbs. The M4 will be the quicker car for sure, especially 500 hp is just a tune away, but the NA V8 will sounds A LOT cooler and feels smoother.

I would bet money on it

Different level of cars bro, even though is from the same company.

If the IS-F didn't have coilover, the RC-F won't either.

The LFA also have carbon rotor, equal length headers, leather wrapped dash.............do you see any of that on any other Lexus other then the LS600 having a leather wrapped dash?

On another note, I think the front of the RC-F looks better than than the normal RC350.

I think Lexus needs to take my money now...

Looks fantastic, and I definitely think the grille is much better proportioned on the F than the standard RC. I'm curious as to whether they will offer an F-Sport version to bridge the two versions.
