Tutorial Request...
Q) What programs do you use to create your images?
A) I mainly use Fireworks but I also use Photoshop for the effects that only Photoshop can offer. Most times you have to figure out what effect you want to do and then use the tools available in the app that can make it.
For example, let's say you have a picture of a tunnel that you want to "paint" your name along the wall...
First, pull up the file in Fireworks and type out your text. In Fireworks, you can type in your text and then press "Q" three times to adjust each corner of the text to what you want it to look like... basically morph it to fit the dimensions of the image.
Here you have your stock image.
Type your text onto the image.
Press Q, Q, Q and then you can morph your text...
Adjust the alpha (transparency) of the text to fit what you feel the paint should look like on the wall...
Photoshop is mainly used for the filters (effects) it can produce.
Q) How did you learn?
A) I first started in 2000 on my first job in NorCal working for a dot-com. Created powerpoint presentations and mockups using fireworks and been using it ever since. Keep playing around with it and see what you can make.
Here are some of the things you can do in fireworks:
I used photoshop and fireworks for these two...
Once you fix it up - just adjust the opacity, merge the text layer down to the background layer and you're set!

Hey Dave thats what I was thinking of doing. Put up some basic tutorials so people can take a crack at it themselves. I was going to either attach it or create a brand new sticky for them.
