Hey guys, my car got keyed :-( and I was thinking of getting some decals to cover it up. If any of you can manage to figure out something that might look nice, id be very happy. I would repaint , but its not worth it right now cuz i know it'll happen again. People in this world are horrible, i hope they never attain something like my baby.

The scratch is from the front fender to the rear fender about 6 inches under the door handle. If the decal was black and red, I think that would look the nicest.

 

oh man, i am so sorry to hear that. that really sucks. where was it keyed?

i guess you tried the swirl / scratch remover? how big is the scratch? what about touch-up pens?

i am not sure if you really want to cover it with some decal...it all depends on where it is i guess. i like your car clean though.

well, if you really want a decal, i think it will help if you can tell us the size of the decal and where it would be on the car. i have not done any decal designs in the past. sounds interesting though.

 

i tried getting it buffed out to no avail. You think a scratch remover might help?

 

Meguiars centenial kit, get it. I am sure you'll be able to polish or sand it out.

 

so you were just using wax right?

well, i have used Meguiar's Scratch X product. it works pretty good.

i recently got Zaino products and loved them. Zaino also makes scratch remover (http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...ory_Code=Zaino) which i think you should definitely try when all else fails before the decal or repaint idea.

 

oh yeah, you might want to post a message in the Automotive Care & Detailing section and see if any experts of CL in this category can provide more solutions.
