Sick it will add a few ponies because the restriction of exhaust gasses will be less. Free(er) flow = more HP. If you also have an intake the difference will be more pronounced.
Letsride, thank you, exactly what I needed to know. I'll post clips of the sound as well as hella pics since no one has any decent shots of this exhaust.
It would be ideal if you could dyno your car before and after that exhaust gets put on. I've seen a before/after dyno here on just adding the Borla (like 1/2 horsepower ) but we've got no real evidence beyond the difference in sound on a true cat-back exhaust systems (which can influences our observations on how much faster our cars feel more than we care to admit).
I know it's an additional cost and investment in time... maybe Jamie or somebody has a hook up that can help out?
Dave great idea. I did dyno my car about 3 weeks ago. Not great results with the SRT intake. I think 246hp and 260lbs torque. So I agree, I am DYING to see if the cat back really helps and now, we can see for ourselves.
I'm making 240-244 whp completely stock. I have a Fujitsubo cat back setup which I'll be testing soon but since it's JDM spec I have to make downpipes for it to match up. I'll throw my car on the dyno today and see if fresh spark plugs make any difference. I'm using OEM of course. I also have an RMM intake coupled with a Blitz SUS filter and will test that later on.

Yes you should see a small reduction in the TQ at lower RPM and then the higher peak HP. Not cheap to do but a before/after that proved this would be cool.
FWIW: Stock(except for l-tuned exhaust) I was at 235hp and 253lbs
i'll second letsride on that......the reason only mufflers don't add much because of stock(narrow) piping size....so no matter how good just the muffler is or how big the outlet is it really does not matter.
it actullay would be ideal for cars to have no cats at all(i wish) even though most of the new cats are a HUGE improvement over stuff made 2-3 years ago, for better flow.
since we can't do anything about cats atleast we can let it breath better cat and back
hope this helps
I'll be installing my test pipes and Fujitsubo exhaust soon. I will dyno it to see if there are any gains. I'm sure there are some but fuel tuning is a must when you take out the cats or when installing intake unless you want to knock like crazy. I have an S-AFC II to handle that.
