Default tuning gs300 2jzgte conversion

hey guys I am at a cross road in my build. I have completed my swap 1998 gs300 with a aristo engine trans and ecu. I was under the impression that the ecu would work but its not looking good. I got so frustrated that i took it to a tune shop and they want me to purchase a supra ecu repin and tune. Looking at another couple thousand dollars. The car starts but shifting is early and it is very sluggish.

any help is greatly appreciated

thanks

bob

Honestly there is a lot of material on this swap. Given what you have shared there's likely not a lot of help because there's not much in the way of facts you have shared. Since the Aristo ECU is tuned to run the Aristo engine and transmission it should be behaving as it did originally. Similar to how a 98-2000 gs300 transmission behaved. By today's sport sedan standards, could be considered sluggish.

Are you thinking that your Aristo is not behaving as it should or that you want to tune it for more performance than it has stock is why you're considering this supra ECU repin option. Honestly I'm not sure how well that will or won't work, given the multiplex nature of the GS/Aristo that has a lot more going on electronically than the Supras did.

Agreed. If you have the GTE Aristo engine, trans, and ecu and it's not running right, there has to be a problem with the install or a defective part(s). Possibly damaged in transit.

Can you do a diagnostic?
tachyon works on the aristo ecu or any onec which allows jdm protocol. KWP toyota jdm.
I believe none of yhe standalones can control the tauto trans so the shops would encourage manual swaps.
As someone said above, this is a fairly common swap so you might be missing something.

Maybe it’s already been solved, but does the aristo ecu have an immobalizer? Do you have the aristo jumper clips in place of the gs300 ones?
