Default RMM exaust

need quick reply from current and past RMM exuast owners

whats your honest impressions on exaust

no drone , nice v8 rumble at idle , how does it really sound at wot. not too intrusive at cruising or barely noticable at cruising..

guys need as much input as possible getting ready to buy one today in a couple of hours and what to make sure of purchase.

lexforlife,

i've had the rmm exhaust on my 98 gs4 for about a month now. i went from stock to a sebring (hated it, no noticeable improvement and very loud), back to stock and now to rmm. i had rmm install their s/c unit about 2 months ago and was going to get their exhaust installed at the same time, but they didn't have any in stock. i can definitely feel an improvement with their exhaust, but that could be because i have that much more air coming in from the s/c. the rmm exhaust is barely noticeable at low idle and at cruising speeds. it does have a nice growl at wot. hope this helps.

I have the RMM too and it rocks. I removed the resonators and now it sounds throaty as hell! I get comments all the time on the deep sound it makes...perfect fit for the GS4

Oh, and I have a K&N intake which surely completes the package. Both of them working together is pure harmony!

(emphasis mine)

(deja vu)

lex - what is "the best" to one person may be "not the best" for someone else, it's relative.

The RMM exhaust is probably the quietest aftermarket exhaust you can get for the GS. The thing I don't like about it though is the "ring around the collar" look of the tip (an inner pipe can be seen inside the outer "tip").

I agree w/ Bit - The sound and looks needed a touch of improvement. If the RMM is too quiet then remove the resonators and unleash the lion. If you don't like the tips, chop em off and add the ones you like. I did all of the above to get the ultimate in looks and sound and it can easily be done. The RMM exhaust is one of the best if not THE BEST exhaust systems for the GS4....just needs a little "tweaking."
