Default I modded my RMM exhaust!

Okay, I did it! The tips on the new RMM exhaust look lame as hell. I am a big RMM fan but this exhaust has issues:

1) The RMM chrome tip is WAY too small - doesn't fill the stock gap
2) The RMM tips come out way too far from the body
3) For some reason the RMM chrome tip is placed on top of another smaller inside tip - looks rice IMHO
4) Using the stock hangers w/ the RMM exhaust had my left tip un-centered

So, I had the tips hacked off and larger ones installed. I also had new hangers welded and mounted with precision fitting. I also had the stock resonators removed and straight pipes installed. Let me tell you, after hearing RedGS4's car w/o resonators with his Tanabe exhaust I had to give it a try. The sound is incredible, very throaty and mean as hell.

Even though I had to drop additional funds to get it done right, the RMM sound is fantastic and the look is exactly what I wanted...

PM me if you are in the Bay Area and want my installer's contact info, he is awesome and has been doing custom work for years.

Here is the new tip, a bit bigger and flush mounted with the body.

Nice job! Looks extremely clean and I can only imagine how throaty and sweet it sounds. Very impressive!

Do you happen to have any pics of the tips alone?

You can use your Borla tips on the RMM exhaust and you will be fine. I called Blair at Rod Millen before I did all the work to mine and he assured me that a tip change will not change the sound. Also, there is no drone sound w/ RMM unless you remove the resonators. I have the drone now that the resonators are gone, but it is well wortth the deep growl!!

Sorry GS400, I wasn't a big fan of the orig RMM tip setup so I took few pics. I also left the originals at the muffler shop...

The new RMM tips are smaller than the originals (new manufacturer) - the ones you have. Without the RMM bumper and larger tip, it looks rather goofy?!?!

Without the resonators there is some drone....well woth it. The stock RMM setup has NO drone. You have to give or take a little for the deep and throaty sound the car now has without the resonators. IMO, it is well worth it!
