Default Lsportline vs RMM exhaust

Hi,

I recently sold my L-tuned exhaust due to the annoying droning noise it generated at 2000 RPM. I was wondering if this droning is noticeable on either the RMM or L-Sportline exhausts? Also, between the two which is the quieter, better performing or do you have any other feedback?

Thanks,

I have RMM. Very nice melow V8 sound...NO drone.

From what I have read, L-sportline is probably the most expensive and best sounding.

Beware, both stick out further than the stock exhaust (made for RMM and L-sport body kit). I don't have a kit and I can live with the RMM but the L-sport sticks out even further.

Good luck.

Ryan

Don't worry about performance difference...negligible.

I have RMM exhaust also, I like it alot. my friends like it too, they said it sound great, not too loud, but very mean, and most important, "does not sound cheap, or sound like a rice mobil hee hee hee"

you can see some pictures here, I do have RMM bodykit, so I really don't know what it look like on a stock bumper like AgGS4 said.

Anyone have an mp3 or wav file of either the RMM or LSportline exhaust?

Hey Banana, those look awesome on your car! I have heard the RMM and I think that they are one of the best sounding systems on the market. That is my next MOD for sure!!!

like Ag said, both stick out but the l-sportline sticks out about an extra 4", and no, i'm not being sarcastic. it is extremely long, but is perfectly flush with the matching bumper. the l-sportline is by far the most expensive of the usual mufflers, about $900. but then there are the very rare toms and such. its very subtle and i love it, with a good performance gain. equally important, i think it is simply the best looking exhaust out there, with a thick walled look with the holes in it. but many do like the thin-walled look

but that extra length will look real stupid with a stock bumper(won't fit anyway). RMM will work better for you in this case

I was down in LA last week and went by the Rod Millen HQ. The dude working in the office told me that the GS4 exhaust is on back order and it won't be available for a few months?!?!?!

The reason is because their tip supplier jacked the prices up and they are lnow ooking for a new alternative solution. How bogus is that!!

I really like the RMM exhaust too. I got a chance to hear RMMGS4's at the meet last Sat. You can barely hear the the exhaust inside the car, but when you WOT it, it makes a nice groaning sound. Think RMM is my #1 choice when I decide to get an exhaust.

I hear ya, MC! RMM all the way. In the meantime, while we wait for RMM to recover from, "back order" status - I ordered some Borla tips to help the appearance.

I have the HKS Hipers fitted and also suffer from Drone (1500-2000rpm). I have put soundproofing in the boot but it has not made any difference.

Has anbody been able to overcome the cause of the Droning noise, or are we stuck with it?
