Default Best intake and for gs300?

I tried to purchase the srt intake and ecu for my 2nd gen gs300 however it seems like they are no longer distributing, their phone number doesnt even work. Any body knows where i can purchase their intake? Or does anybody suggest a different intake? Let me know. P.s im in the NyC area

new, forget about it. you may be able to locate a used one if you are patient enough. i've been looking for over 6 months and seen 3, two for 400's and one for a 300. use a craigslist crawler to search the whole country and maybe you'll get lucky.

all the rest are pretty much the same. this topic has been covered a lot and you'll find members either a: think they are a waste of money or b: don't care there aren't any real hp gains and just enjoy the look and sound they give. i happen to be one of the latter.

My Injen installed painlessly in less than a half hour.....make sure to check/clean your throttle body and o2 sensor while your doin it...just search DIY and you'll get the details

The best intake? Actually, is stock.

I am sorry but i just can not agree with that statement. With all the kinks bends and flow restrictions there is no way that an oem intake "flows" better than a straight pipe with a cone filter.

It's not really just about how much air can potentially fit through, but how. The stock intake is designed to deliver air at an improved velocity, quietly, and it's what the car was tuned for. "Flow" is not particularly important since this car is naturally aspirated and can only generate a certain amount of vacuum anyways. As long as there are not too many restrictions (a dirty filter is a good example) What you do want to do is manage air pressure (and velocity, again) inside the intake tract. Also, you can just check the dyno results to see that a short ram doesn't do much on the GS300 especially without additional tuning to account for the changed intake air delivery. There's a real engineering reason for how intakes are designed, instead of being just a cone filter connected to the throttle body.

+1 for stock.if youre talking about power. But if you want induction noises and want to lose power then pick up some sort of cold air intake

You can also remove the first little snorkle of the stock intake and it gets growly.

Intake sucking in hot air from the engine... Priceless!

I am running an IS300 HPS intake pipe on mine. I had a generic eBay short ram, but I hated its fitment and the heat that it retained. I thought this would be a decent alternative while keeping the stock air box. Looks clean and it doesn't stand out. Car definitely felt quicker with the HPS on compared to the short ram.

Compared to Stock. (Stock had tons or ridges, a sound resonator, and a heavy heat shield, while the HPS is completely smooth and it has a larger diameter. Also way lighter than stock.)

Compared to eBay SRI. (SRI is still heavier, had poor mounting, and it ran really hot. HPS never really got too hot, even cooler than stock.)
