Default Exhaust help please.

Hello everyone. I have a 2006 Is250, and I am lookin to upgrade my exhaust. I am wanting to get an ARK Performance DT-S exhaust system, and Megan Racing headers. What else would I need to get to fully upgrade my exhaust? Thank you and have a great day.

If you were getting headers done anyway , you should just get the PPE headers since here more tried and true than Megan. Also is the ARK DT-S a catback or axleback? If it's an Axleback than you should also get a mid pipe to go along with it. I recommend Megan for a deeper sophisticated sound or Invidia for a louder sometimes raspier sound. Difference being that the Invidia has no resonater sand cost $350 I think and the Megan DOES have resonater but cost $500-ish

Ahh ok. That makes sense. Also, after doing a lot more digging I came across the fact that upgrading to an aftermarket header, it cuts out the catalytic converter. I was looking at the PPE headers aswell, but as far as the exhaust goes, it is a full cat-back exhaust. I would prefer the deeper sound as opposed to a raspier sound.

Agreed on the PPE headers; I have them, and you'll not be disappointed. If you can afford the ARK exhaust, you can see the value of paying for quality pieces and not copies of copies.

i have invidia midpipe, it has a resonator

i don't think you can find ark exhausts anymore, and if so it's not actually a true dual if you look at pics of it theres a y-pipe

My bad. I meant to say the Megan keeps the cats while the Invidia doesn't. Also the Megan has a much larger more factory like resonator compared to the invidias.

This is what I meant.

Right on. I think I have made my final decision to go with PPE Headers, but I am still somewhat deciding on exhaust. Are there any true dual exhausts out there for the 250?

This is actually the sound I am wanting to accomplish. I am not too familiar with Invidia though. My only experience of being around it is my buddy put a cat-back Invidia exhaust system on his 03 350z. Any other exhaust systems make this sound, or will a full Invidia system suffice?

Not sure what to exhaust would give you that exact sound but generally the Invidia mid pipe gives a higher pitched and louder sound. Where as he Megan gives a deeper sound while increasing noise level but not to the extent of the Invidia mid pipe. So basically Invidia = louder higher pitched and sometimes raspy, Megan = a little louder , deeper, no rasp.

As for true dual exhaust the only one I can think of is the Joe Z catback which I THINK is a true dual. Not 100% sure though. That usually runs $1000+ though so I don't know if that's worth it to you.

I would also entertain the idea of having the PPE exhaust system to compliment your headers. They hook up perfectly and you have opt to have an adjustable exhaust that changes sound based on your preference.. worth looking into if you want the max amount of HP and customization.

The ark is a full Cat back. ive owned it for a bit, and I didn't like how it sounded. it sounded a little too high pitched with a little rasp. Not too sure how to describe it, but it sounded MUCH better on a 370Z or G37.

I sold it within 3 months of owning it.

I have a youtube clip Ill post when I get home. My work network blocks youtube.
