Default Megan Racing SC430 downpipe (y-pipe)

Hello all. I was wondering if anyone with a GS400/430 has tried fitting one of these? Reason I'm asking: After swapping my exhaust, I noticed that the stocker has exhaust leaks where the heatshields are located on both banks... so was looking for a suitable alternative to replacing it with another stock y-pipe.

This is what I'm referring to:

So, I'm guessing it may be the same part as the "x pipe" you mentioned?

Yeah, I have that one as well mated to my Borla axlebacks... the Megan part connects between the cats and that pipe, so it would be used in conjunction with the Top Speed midpipes. I referred to it as the "downpipe" as to hopefully not confuse anyone... I fail

Maybe this would help lol.... I see what your saying about the pipe.. Will it fit the GS... I also had the shop delete the 3rd muffler and put a straight pipe in its place much like the Megan pic below... How would this help?

that look a lot bigger than 2.25''

Yeah, I saw that picture a while back. On the site it lists the inlets as being 2.25" but has no measurement for the outlet. I figured I'd go ahead and be the guinea pig as the leak has gotten worse over the last few weeks. I'll let you all know how it turns out.

^^ I looked into that before too, but then apparently the oem system is a very well designed piece and there's not much gain from it. I was looking to match my headers, with the x pipe and test pipe.

Yeah, I'm not really expecting much of a performance increase (other than from the leak no longer being present); I am thinking it may be a bit louder without the third cat being there though.

on my car its a 3rd muffler not a cat I'm pretty sure.. It made a little bit of a sound difference but i've gotten used to it... I have a straight pipe in its place...

Hey northstyle, did you go ahead an order this y-pipe? i'm curious to see if it will fit gs's. I've developed another leak and i'm thinking the y-pipe is the culprit again.
