Default Polished Trans Cooler

Some have asked for a pic. Here they are.
B&M racing cooler. Compact, yet thick to compensate for it's size. Anodized Blue connectors, stainless steel polished 3/8" #6 line. Custom bracket.

Default Installed

Here is the unit installed. Note, it uses the factory mount on the top left, with a custom bracket on the right.
Does it work?
Temp gauge and also the pyrometer shows that it cools slightly better than the larger units without any of the cooling issues.
The trans is safe and it looks sweeet through the grill.
I installed one on a buddies black GS last night and it stands out even better with his black grill. It was too late for a good pic though.

Default Steel line

I will be connecting both steel lines together with a braided steel line. Till then, only 5 inches of rubber hose is perfect.

Default Holes

There are few ways to route lines/hoses. We tried going around the condenser/radiator but found the temperature was elevated there and we did not want the hose to touch these componenets though no harm would probably come from it. Plus it used more hose than we wanted since it is going around and back. Another spot is under and on the side of the passenger side, but once again the install did not look clean and we did not want the hoses to rub on anything. Also steel lines would not have been able to make it.
We obted instead to drill two holes on the plastic air flow shroud as pictured. Nothing is behind it ,so there is not need for worry. The holes are clean and look factory/professional with a minimal of line/hose use with the added benefit of not touching/rubbing on anything hot.
Also this spot is perfect because even if the car bottomed out and hit the front end, the lines/hoses are well protected from the front crossmember.
Also the engine cover covers the lines nicely so nothing is exposed.
You guys be the judge.

BLING BLING!

J/K

I prefer the black, more stealthy look (http://www.digitalsimple.com/PCTC%20Installed.htm), but your's is surely a great install; looks sharp, and great info, and thanks for sharing.

Default The look

Hello Dex
Thanks.
The last few coolers I had had similar installs but were in all black. Looked too factory for me and I wanted something that stood out which I believe this does. But hey, a can of engine black will take care of it if one wanted.
LOL.

my cooler is black
I like bmracing design, very low pressure drop compare to all of the other trans cooler i've seen. Also, the cooling fins are 100% solid.

That looks really sharp, have to say I like the polished cooler over the black. Thanks for the writeup on your line/hose routing -- I hope to do something similar soon.

I'm not sure on routing through cut-outs in the shroud, though, without having crawled underneath the car, but I was wondering about shroud deformation under load. I suppose if you smack something that hard the cooler lines are one of many things to worry about.
