I think your best bet based on what you have described would be L-Sportline. Those are the same exact reasons why I chose it. Since I need to replace my whole exhaust system now due to the TT setup, I will be selling my exhaust within the next 3 weeks. If you don't find anything by then, drop me a pm.

you may want to consider L-Tuned as well. They make some sound, but not the ricer "fart-can" sound you're talking about. The L-Sport setup would probably be quieter by my best guess, although I do not have experience with them. Good luck!

Listen to the RMM exhaust on the rmm website. From what I read on here (correct me if I am wrong), this is the only exhaust that is not too loud and has NO drone whatsoever.

Has anyone heard the Borla exhaust, RMM exhaust, and the Apexi exhaust?? If so, how do they compare?

I have been waiting two months for my borla exhaust, and have yet to recieve it. I have about to change my order to something else. Right now, I am leaning toward the Apexi as it is a full cat back, but I have not heard it yet. Any help would be appreciated.

Borla and RMM are similar sound. I don't know what the Apexi is like. I'd say the RMM is the quieter one, then the Borla, then L-Tuned. Haven't seen the latest RMM but the tips on the one I've seen (which was at a couple of years old) weren't appealing to me because they kinda show a pipe within a pipe. Those tips are round. Borlas have shipped with two different tips, almost round and pretty oval shaped. They're both nice, but the Borlas come with unusual (and sometimes unreliable) hangers for the mufflers and don't use the stock ones. I don't know how the RMM one is hung. I'm biased because I have L-Tuned so take it for what it's worth, but I found the L-Tuned to be preferable because it has a real high quality chrome finish on the tips and it uses the factory hangers. The only negatives on the L-Tuned are that it's a good bit more expensive than the other two and it has a more noticeable loud resonance (drone) at part throttle with the stock torque converter which has the car engine around 2000rpm. I got around the drone initially with soundproofing the trunk and under the back seat, and then recently by getting a higher rpm torque converter.

Here's my exhaust:

mrsypher has the Apexi on his 02 GS300, sounds nice, very raspy, not deep, medium with some pizazz in it, sounds like a race car almost, not ricey either. I have borlas on my 99 GS400, deep and tonish, thas what I like.

I've had RMM and Borlas on my GS 430 and found that the RMM fit much better than the Borlas but stuck out past the bumper too much for my taste. The Borlas sounded better to me with a lower tone, both had the slight drone like everyone talked about. Was a little bit of a hassle to change the hanger system for the Borlas and the rubber pieces were kind of flimsy looking, also had to have a local exhaust shop heat one of the pipes and bend it to get the oval tip centered on the passenger side, ended up selling both systems and putting back the stock mufflers with aftermarket tips, go figure

I just installed the Borla system on my '99 GS 400. Very good sound, does NOT sound like the cheesy exhausts you hear on so many Jap cars, more towards an American V8. There is a video of this exhaust on the Suprastore.com website (along with the Swift racing ECU and Intake).
