Default PPE+Invidia+Greddy = Bad Sound?

I'm running PPE headers, modified Invidia mid-pipe (with PPE high flow cats), and the Greddy SE axle-back exhaust. It sounds great at most RPM ranges but there are a few instances (like 1st or 2nd at 2200ish) that it really just sounds like ****.

Is there anything I can do to get a cleaner sound out of this setup? Less "fart canon", if you will.

Any help is greatly appreciated

Could possibly be from the headers or the high flow cats. This member https://www.clublexus.com/forums/per...-midpipes.html has the invidia midpipe and greddy axle back and he doesnt complain of any sound like you described (though you could pm him). You could try re-installing your oem cats and see if that makes a difference, if not you could go as far as re-installing the stock headers too and seeing if that makes a difference.

Its your mid pipe that makes that fart can sound not the headers.

The Greddy+Invidia setup didn't sound bad at all before the header install. I'm 100% positive it is caused by the headers and/or the high flow cats - but I'd rather not uninstall the headers.

Bet if you take out the invidia mid pipe and put your stock back on you'll hear the difference. Cause i have the ppe with hfc and exhuast with stock mid pipe and it pretty stock sound.

I wouldnt want to uninstall the headers either. But I would switch out the high flow cats for stock cats first and see if that makes a difference. But to get the exhaust to sound exactly like you want your going to have to start removing and replacing parts. Hopefully its as easy as the cats or midpipe, but im betting on a combination of headers w/high flow cats.

Thanks for the link - I may try to have the shop add some resonators to my Invidia mid-pipe like 06isDriver.

When I had the invidia mid pipe it made that fart can sound that was quite embarrasing. Sounded great at idle and going down the road but that occasional fart can sounds was enough for me to take a loss and sell it in a week.

I miss the sounds it made but NOT the farting sound!

When I got my Invidia with my Greddy it gave it that nice 350Z exhaust sound at around 3,500 RPM!
