I have a Compustar MODEL: RF-P2W901-SS remote starter on my vehicle and at first I had the same issue as you and didn't know what was going on. Apparently, all you need to do it tap hit the brake for about 1 sec and let go, don't hold it down. If it hasn't shut off at this point you can probably shift and go. I haven't gotten the timing down completely but 98% of the time my car doesn't turn off.
i just got a remote engine starter for my lexus is 250 - 2011
when turn my car on with remote start and i want to get in to drive
push the brake it kills the engine
i should start it manually
is this normal ?
You don't give alot of detail, but NO it is not normal. I have a Viper alarm and there is a specific bypass module that they must use designed by DEI (Makers of Viper) for our Lexus with funky keys. Once they use that, no, you push brake and it goes over with no killing of the engine. The way you describe is an install where the module is not programmed right or the wrong one. I never have to experiement with how long or how hard I push on the brake.
From the moment i disarm my alarm, i have 30 seconds to step into the car and press the brake pedal, then as long as it senses the key, i can go on and drive away with no issues.
What module do you guys use? I am using Flashlogic and my car turns on but doesn't turn off. It also doesn't have any added security. I turn my car on and someone can break my window and drive off without the key.

wow that is scarry, i used the Directed electronis Xpresskit XKALL or XK05-don't remember which one.
Aftermarket parts can't "void" a new car warranty.
But if they cause a problem, the warranty doesn't have to cover that problem
It remains in force for any other unrelated issues.
I see. Thanks for clarifying.
I'm also looking into getting the viper 5902. Do you have any recommendation as how to do it? Buy online and install at local shop ? .. or ..

One of the things to keep in mind: if you buy the whole thing from a shop and have them install it, you are guaranteed they they will fix the problem if one arises, if it is hardware or the install. If you take them the parts, they may charge more later if anything goes wrong. They will charge you to troubleshoot and/or for installation or removal of faulty equipment--That is the incentive to buy the whole thing from a shop.
on our complex cars, where there are lots of folks with bad installs, I would not risk it to save the money---especially since the amateur guys like Best Buy will not even touch our Lexus, their books telling them that a remote starter is not possible for the 2IS. That tells us how challenging our install is--call Best Buy and verify, they will not do it.
My two cents
