Default 2JZGTE swap has begun

Ive begun the 2JZGTE swap into my 2000 Lexus GS300.

Here is the motor after it arrived on a pallet. It came complete with transmission, wiring harness, pcm, alternator, ps pump and more.

So far the following has been done:
- remove old motor
- take yoke off Aristo trans and custom weld it to the US spec driveshaft
- remove hose attaching to rear turbo, cut off bump preventing water hose attaching onto the heater core
- plumbed intercooler and hose
- ran return line

Ive got some problems now- the GS will start, however after it starts, the rpms are very low and it barely idles. Then it seems like fuel pressure drops and the car will stall.

Im using the stock GE maf, ive read some people say that the stock GS300 GE maf will work, some people make it seem like the Aristo Maf needs to be used.

Ive read a few people talk about SARD jet pump killers being put into use but it doesnt seem like Ill need that for the current setup with stock twins.

Anyone else have input?

The orange connector on the harness has a shorting connector that is orange as well. Yours appears to be missing and the stock GS one is wrong. You may want to look in to that.

you need the JPK if you're converting to return fuel system, and especially if you're running a high flow pump.

GE MAF will work in the GE MAF housing, and same with GTE. They're both calibrated for their specific pipe diameter.

Ben - can you elaborate on that? I have not heard of this shorting connector. Im having problems with traction lights, and oil pressure lights coming on that Im still sorting out, and trying to figure out how to wire up the tachometer, and this makes me wonder if any of these have to do with the shorting connector.

Search for the tach thread, there are specific pics of what needs to be done. (silvergs300 sp? I know has it in his build thread)

You just got to add the missing wire/pin to the aristo igniter..

I've read where the gte and ge maf's can be interchanged as well.. Although I have both and the part numbers are indeed different, but they seem the same otherwise. I assume you didn't get the aristo maf with the motor and that is why your using the ge?

post up some pics when you get a chance, love to see the progress.

I am just going to put this here because this seems to be a growing problem.

If you have a bunch of dash lights and the car will not shift out of park i would start here.

Make sure the Orange plug on the aristo harness is plugged in to a connector that looks like the one in the fallowing pictures.

This will not fix your traction control lights and I have not heard of a way to get the traction control working. I pulled the bulbs.

You need to have the traction control ecu from an aristo, they sell them on yahoo japan.

Burton - ive checked out the orange plug you showed me and my shifter is still locked.

Guys, what is this connector used for ?

There is no plug on my Aristo pcm for this wiring/plug. The stock gs300 pcm has a connector for it but not the Aristo pcm.
