Default K&N Typhoon Kit adds 12+ HP

Has anyone had any experiences with this air intake? I have had K&N air filters but never the intake. Thinking about getting one for my IS250 and my wifes Pathfinder.

Lmao no intake will give you 12hp 2-4hp maybe. But not worth the money when you can just do a drop in filter.

I'd say get it only if you want the looks.

Discussed to death in the 2IS performance section already...

Buy the K&N for looks & for sound, but not for HP. That goes for any short-ram intake.

There's two basic categories - air box or open-air filter (short ram).

Air box:
JoeZ (just the pipe)
FSport

SRI:
K&N
Takeda
Fujita
etc.

JoeZ gives the most reliable power increases (+5) - the same should hold for FSport. Short rams are the loudest, but might cost you hp due to heatsoak. Neither intake will make much difference in the "butt dyno" department, though.

Does anyone know if the K&N intake will work on the 2011 IS250 RWD? Thanks.

Sure will... though last I knew it wasn't CARB certified so unless that's changed it's not legal in CA.
