can't really do computer mods to this car. Mostly bolt ons. ie intake, headers, midpipe, exhaust.

Since the ECU on our cars has yet to be broken, there are no performance chips.

You realize the ECT Power mode stays on until you disable it right? Unless they changed it for the 2011, which would be kind of silly.

It also slows the car down for WOT runs

Sorry maybe im thinking of something else, but i thought it was a toggle switch for the ECT power mode? So dont you have to switch it on?

He's saying if you toggle it on it stays on until you change it- hence no need to "tape" the switch.

But as I said, ECT-normal is faster for WOT driving anyway.

my '11 is350 AWD has three settings, The top is "Power", middle is "ECT", bottom is "Snow". So I think you're both kinda right.

While in power, it's definitely more responsive and has more added torque to shift points(while moving and driving), but haven't felt it be faster from a stop position.

All years/models have that switch with those settings, but nobody would use snow for performance so not really relevant.

ECT-Power doesn't add any hp or torque. Ever. It doesn't change engine behavior at all, just transmission behavior.

It also shifts at a lower RPM than normal when floored (hence why it's inferior for say a drag race).

It's useful in some part throttle and on/off throttle situations though.

Here's exactly what it does:

actually to clarify what people have been referring to, the top is the ECT-Power mode and middle is the ECT-Normal.

Right sorry, meant perceived power (due to the shift points). Regardless, it does kick my head back more on a downshift than when ect is in norm. I assume that's due to being in lower rpms in the down shift, but either way, the switch does what it says. . Definitely helps you get goin say for a passing situation!
