no im just not knowledgable on the subject of car tuning yet. maybe if you could guide me into a certain direction to create the abillity to tune or chip my car that would be resourceful or tell me otherwise. instead of being a self-centerened ego-trip, putting me down for things i dont know.

No chips are out for the 2IS. Encryption is super heavy or something.

Performance increasers

Intake - I would reccomend F Sport or Joez - 5hp - $300 or $150
Exhaust - Reccomended F Sport or JoeZ - 5-10hp $1000 or $1300ish
Headers - PPE is the only option - 16-20 hp - $800 ish

Supercharger - Super expensive for minimal gains. (5000+ for like 40 hp)

I think thats about it.

Alittle searching around the performance forum will find you lots of info

I'd advise you to loosen up. I didn't see where anyone put you down. But, I must say, use of the search function would have led you to the correct answer. The recent Toyota ECU has not been cracked, and the prospects do not look good.

Like others have said, performance chips don't exist. If you do find one, its won't do anything at all but cost you money. Like Hoac said - Intake, Headers & Exhaust is pretty much it. Supercharge is an option, but without being able to tune the car, you can't really get that far. You can always trade up for an IS-F tho

If you get an axle back exhaust you can get a Megan or Invidia mid pipe. $375-$450.

The intakes are the cheapest performance upgrade $/hp wise. The F-sport is available from Sewellparts.com for $175 if you just get the intake pipe and the couplings, you don't need the replacement airbox. The JoeZ is available for $125 from l-tunedparts.com and was designed by a CL member (which Lexus copied for the F-sport intake). Either can be done in under an hour by anyone that can handle a wrench and a screwdriver.

Axle-back exhaust range from $250 for the M2 exhaust (copy of Tanabe exhaust which I'd recommend ~ $700) to a couple grand. They all give about 8-12hp with the main difference being the exhaust note/loudness. F-Sport and JoeZ are some of the louder exhausts. 30mins to install at an indy shop or an hour with help from a friend.

Headers are some serious business and require some mechanical know-how or a decent mechanic to swap. Not for the light-hearted but also some of the bigger hp gains.

Turbo/superchargers don't make any sense as the cost doesn't add up for the hp gains. As was mentioned, if you're going to drop the money on a supercharger you'd be better off just getting an IS-F (or have lots of connections.)

I believe there's a sticker you can put on your bumper that gives like 50+ hp right? I've seen those before

Calm down. He wasn't putting you down or being self-centered. He said "this must be a joke" because had you done a single search on the forum for "performance chip" or any variant thereof, you would have come up with the answer you're looking for in under 30 seconds.

Try the search function.

start with the basic when modding any car. Intake/Header/Exhaust and for our IS's, thats pretty much all you can do. Maybe in a couple more years there will be more mods.
