Default Injen/Fujita CAI

Hey i'm looking forward to adding a CAI either Injen or Fujita since that's what most people seem to recommend. Is there any place i can get it for a good deal? And is there more to the installation than swapping the air filter with the CAI, such as a chip swap, changes in ECU for the A/F ratio?

Thanks!

You are most likely going to get a check engine light with those intakes. Do a search and you will find all the info you need.

I was referring to the 300. Lots of threads on people having issues/check engine lights on the 300 with those intakes.

I've had the Injen and Weapon R both installed on my car and only had the check engine light come on when I didn't clamp one of the brackets on tightly enough. These are plug and play intakes so once you install *correctly* you should be fine.

As far as the differences in product, I perceive them to be about the same. I had a richer sound with the Injen than Weapon but both did the job. You can probably find some really sound deals on a GS300 intake on eBay since the demand for those products is not a great as years past.

Also, they the search function. This topic has been covered before.

Thanks!

How much would it differ in performance adding the intake? Also, the Power ECT button in the car, does it change anything?

It alters the shifting of the transmission for more performance.

Here is a link for you to check out:

hmm i've been looking around for some CAI for the 2001 GS300 and it doesn't look very popular; i can't find any. But i did find a lot of Short Ram Intakes for the car from both Injen and Fujita. I did some research on it and it seems as if CAI's are better than Short Ram's regarding performance. Is it true?

I have a 2002 GS300 and I'm also looking for a CAI, and from what I've read...I would reccomend a CAI over a short ram because I think a CAI gives a slightly larger HP gain. Look on ebay for one because I can't find anything online besides short ram except for on ebay. And I'm wondering if anyone has advice for me...I'm considering adding a performance chip once I install a CAI.

not sure if the 2G GS can support a CAI since the OEM air filter does not utilize a resonator that goes inside the bumper like most other cars... since it uses a ram air scoop from the front grill to direct air into the filter box from the front, there isn't anything coming from the bottom..

i can be wrong though as i haven't taken off the front bumper or peeled back the wheel liner to look inside the fender... i would guess this is possible since the NA-T guys are running piping for their intercoolers somewhere...
