Hi everyone (again), sorry to repost but I need anyone who can help to respond asap.... After installing the AEM intake and apexi Safc - it was tuned (minimally)... there were no problems but I decided to restore the afc to factory settings until I can find someone to tune it with a dyno. After restoring it... a few days later the CHECK ENGINE light has come on Now I have heard that this may occur due to the ECU not recognizing the added air flow? Everything is working fine and the engine is responding normally but I am still concerned that there may be a problem... if there is not a problem and the ECU is just not recognizing the increased air flow how do I eliminate the check engine light from coming on? If anyone can let me know what is going on here I would appreciate it!
I've got an Injen Intake and everythings fine with my engine...but my engine light is also on. I've been told to reset the ECU by disconnecting the positive wire from the battery for a few mintutes and then connect it back. A few people have told me to do this, including a tech from Injen. I just haven't had the chance to try it yet since my car is back in teh body shop. I get it back next week sometime and I will try it then.
Let me know if this works if you decide to try it.
I did try it when I got my car back...but after about 40 miles or so...it turned back on. I called Injen, they are going to send me a new filter, they think it may be the wrong size or something. But they are sending it to teh store though...and I have a feeling that I won't get it, considering that one of the girls that works there has an IS300 with an Injen Intake and the same problem, I think she'll just take it and put it on her car, we'll see what happens. But in the meantime, since you said its happened to you as well, what did you do to fix the problem? Nothing is wrong with the car, it runs fine, its just annoying as hell to have that light on!!!
I haven't seen what the injen looks like for the IS300, but i hear that the MAF sensor is in the wrong place. It will send bad codes back to the ecu, causing the light to come on...try to do it again and take off the negative battery. If not, have a diagnostic test (lexus service) take a test of it and see what readings they get.
