Performance Chips - The Mother Thread
I meant there will never be an aftermarket made chip...there are means of tuning the OEM hardcoded ecu through means of flashing and piggybacking which is pretty much the same thing. And no there were not ECU's available for the is300. there were piggybacks and flashes made available. Just wait a couple more months, you'll see what I'm talking about.
So in a nut-shell there are no standalone fuel management units for Lexus vehicles..please correct me if I'm wrong. But I've dealt with many newer model Lexus's, and have seen only piggybacks and reflashes...which do provide some good performance gains.

Reflashing and ECU generally offers more flexability than piggy-back ECUs since you can often change timing, air/fuel, transmission behavior, throttle response, etc, but piggy-backs usually just change air / fuel, and sometimes timing (poorly).
Regarding highway fuel economy, all modern cars maintain stoich air / fuel ratios very well at partial throttle, so there isn't anything to gain there.

Is anyone had any experience with this type of chip/resistor?
Does is really work?
Any negative effects?

i doubt it'll do anything... there was a thread about this before.

I tried changing my IAT sensor voltage with a potentiometer on a '91 Acura Integra to adjust air / fuel ratio, but it didn't have any effect at all. There is absolutely no possibility that a current OBD-II vehicle would have any positive change either since it continuously calibrates itself with the sensors while at partial throttle.
The part probably costs the seller $2, and the dyno test will cost ~$75. I would be surprised if the BBB would even care about an eBay vendor, and the "myth" has been busted by everyone that knows anything about modern EFI.
Go for it! But only if you pair it up with this... http://www.electricsupercharger.com/ and you'll be smoking IS-F's in no time.
haha yah i know... i was just throwing that out there sarcastically meaning it just aint worth it haha... speaking of worth it... i really want to get on that tanabe GB hehe
