Default !st purchase!!! vvti easy or not?

Hey you guys. Ive been on this site for a while now awaiting the purchase of my first JZS161 and I have. I am a proud owner of a silver on black 98 GS300!

Has small issues but for 6100 bucks theres not much coplaining you can do.
Well to the point Im soon to purchase a motor set and I had a few ?tions.
1) is doing the VVTI swap as difficult as everyone says it is?
2) I the USDM 5 speed auto better than the JDM 4 speed auto?
Thanks in advance for your help.

1) No it isn't. Follow this link:

2) No. And you can't use the 5-speed with the GTE swap. The ECU can't control it

Great! Thanks for the info.
Since you cant use the USDM 5 speed auto.
Can the 4 speed still be built by boost logic?

yes it can, but I would do a search first regarding that. There has been some discussion about it.
