Hey everyone, been trolling here for a long time, really haven't posted much.

Have a question about about using a VVTI motor with a non VVTI auto supra trans. Would this combo work with a standalone like a proefi that can control the trans? From researching I've gathered that the VVTI auto trans in my 99 SC300 has 5 solenoids vs the 3 that the non VVTI supra auto has.

Im trying to decide between non VVTI or VVTI for my engine swap, but want to make sure I can run the ATF speed stage 3 auto trans (which they state is for NON VVTI) with a VVTI motor before I buy a motor for the swap.

Sorry if this is a dumb question. Im a GTR guy (trans options are basically stock, or built) and Im still learning about interchangeability with the SC platform. Ive searched but didnt find much.

Any opinions on the ATF speed stage 3 auto trans?

The ATF Speed stage 3 is rated by the company to around 850rwhp but I have pushed that a bit more . The secret on these auto trans is keeping the trans oil always to the nornal working temp so having the right coolers is a must.

You will need a non VVTi TT auto transmission if you want it rebuilt by ATF. You will also need same transmission if you want ProEFI to control it. Non of the same or lowered price aftermarket ECUs do control the transmission.

Do you need a VVTi or non VVTi engine with the non VVTI TT transmission ? It doesn't matter. Both engines can be controlled by ProEFI.
