Default Finally got my PI TC installed. WOW!

I've had this thing sitting in my garage for about 6 months and finally had it installed today. This unleashes so much low end torque it's unreal.

I've had my car for about 7 years and I know every detail about it. The first things I notice is obviously the low end torque. The car just hops off the line like a bat outta hell. A couple more things I noticed though is my car idle's just a tad bit lower. I've had the rough idle issue but now it's a little "rougher" nothing that really gets under my skin because with this new PI TC installed I won't be idle for long anyways.

The last thing I noticed is how it actually makes my cars acceleration feel completely different throughout the gears. Before it would actually engage well below 3k rpm while I was driving it. Now even if I am cruising at 40mph when I press the gas the Rpms rev all the way to 3k and the car just cruises so much better now. It just feels like the car is alot more responsive than it was before. Now it doesn't down shift just to upshift right away like it use to before. All in all this is an amazing mod!

I've had mine for 3 years now. One of the best mods for the 8 cylinder GS. I'm gonna do the gears next and then headers.

It is a major improvement isn't it?

Better save up for tires and GAS. You'll lose about 2mpg around town,....more in the first month or two as you cannot resist how great it feels!

Is the only torque converter for the GS400/430 the Dragon? This is what SRT sells as well correct?

Thats not my real 1/4 mile times lol thats just wishful thinking on my part.

This is a major improvement and it's unfortunate that Lexus didn't make the car like this right out the bat.

I used a PI torque convertor. No complaints so far. No joke if I am taking off from the light slowly even at a rolling start of about 10mph I can hit the gas and get my tires to peel out no problem.

After calling around and getting some prices. I decided to just bite the bullet and let the Toyota dealership down the street from my house install it. I figured it's too important to just let anyone install it. The places I went to for a quote were used to working on only american cars and were looking on the computer to figure out how long it would take to install.

The dealership charged me $900 to install. The stall speed I have it at 2800. I have been having so much fun with this car now it's unreal.

Man I understand what you're saying....but DANG! They ripped you off. That's like taking it to a shop at $100/hour and it taking them 9 hours to install. I paid a little under $300 for my install.

yea but I don't mind spending the extra money to make sure it's done right. I could have got it cheaper for sure but I wouldn't trust someone else that has never worked on this kinda car before.

$500-600 isn't something I really would ***** about either so it's all good in my book.

...you just got a REALLY good deal! I paid around $700-$800 as well for the install of the TC and the tranny cooler. The TC has a list of around 8 + hrs. and at $70/Hr. plus NYS sales tax and another 1/2 - 1 hour for the tranny cooler and...your right there. An expensive install but worth it!
