What’s up. I own a 98 GS400 and I love it. I have always been fascinated with the 2jz turbo engines.
Question.
Can I swap a supra turbo engine into my GS4?
What would I need to modify?
Has anyone done a swap from a 400 to a 300 turbo?

This is something I would consider if my GS4 engine dies out on me. I doubt it, but Its always good to think ahead.

I was thinking of looking for a 98+ gs300 with a bad motor and start a swap of just wait for my 400 to die. I wonder what would be a better deal.

I rather keep the gs300 just cause you can swap in other motor cuz down the line if u wanna keep the car long and motors goes bad u can swap in the 2jz in. thats how i see it..gs4 is noice tho

 

There are people that have swapped a gte in their 400's.

 

yup, he is right. i think there might even a few on this forum.

 

I will do a search and see what I come up with. It is good to know for those of us who own the 400's. and would like to one day go turbo. I know there are a few that have the 400 TT but I think a complete 2jz turbo setup with manual tranny would be the way ill go. This will be something for the future not now. I would have to save up for some time.

 

You also have the option to go manual on the 1uzfe. There are adapter plates and clutches available that will make the swap possible.
