looking good...since it seems like they removed the cross brace in the back did they remove ALL the interior also or just tape it off when they painted this?
Hey Rick glad you chimed in, for those of you that don't know Rick, AKA Speeder is the guy that did 90%+ of the work that went into my car, including the 6 speed swap Haltech Intsallation, etc.. He comes highly reccomended.
I'll be in touch Rick, I have those left over aluminum intercooler pipes that you mentioned you may want, I'll ship them out today. Once the car is painted I wanted to come see you so we can hook up the speed sensor to the Haltech to allow for set up of the anti lag feature, I want to get a good 1/4 mile time this winter so I'll be needing that speed sensor set up.
The hood scoop is a step in the right direction, but just a thought if you might have considered positioning the scoop over the turbo itself. Like a symmetrical scoop for function as well as design, like this car. I understand your under bonnet temp problem. I have the same thing even with an HKS kansai vented hood.
Like this for example. But situate the scoops forward.

I like your hood, thats the 1st time I've seen that hood. I don't think it would really look correct on the turbo side, besides to get the scoop to function as a type of ram air it would have to be up front by my passanger headlight as that where my air filter is. I'm ok with it where it is, it will help vent the hot air out.

Sorry, that's not my hood. It was one that I had thought of making. But the position was too far back for me. I think I have a pic of another member's that had a custom that fit in the right place.
Thats a nice hood too. I probably should have just bought a vented hood too. I bought a new hood Lexus hood for $350 as mine was damaged by the prior owner + $200 for the scoop + labor. Could have just bought a vented hood but I'm always afraid of poor fitment and having a flimsy hood.

that was alex's custom hood ricky showed (although before alex owned it, dee owned this car), it used a oem hood cut to fit ford mustang cobra hood vents and the arch in the middle.he wrecked it and bought a CF one while he was getting it repairted and then moved to costa rica. i tried to buy it from him for when i mounted a top mount SC it would give me some room but i couldnt get the shipping low enough from cali
I stopped in yesterday, the 1st stage was applied and sanded down smooth, the next step is to re paint some of the areas that were burnt through during painting then move on to the clear coat. What I didn't realize is the paint can be sanded down flat like it is here, it doesn't have to be buffed to a shine prior to applying the clear coat. The clear coat will make it shine and reflect. He demonstrated this to me by spraying some water based cleaner on a spot.
