When I called Elmhurst Toyota they informed me the 94 Supra Turbo Auto TRD LSD is identical to the GS300 TRD LSD same part number. Are you still running your stock GS300 diff? From reading your post it looks like you swapped in the GS400 rear then tried to install a Supra auto diff into the GS400? I'm not sure if that will work or not but the Supra torsen dif will fit in the GS300 pumpkin, I found the below tech article maybe it will help you out? I'm not sure if you've seen this one yet.

I scored a diff from a gs400/430 and it is the correct gear needed for the 6 speed 3.2X. was hoping to use this supra lsd diff but the ring gear would fit over it. So im open diff correct gear for now.

we had a small PS leak, that is fixed now. The back up lights weren't working, those are fixed too. The last thing left is tuning now, the plan is to get the car this weekend!

I took apart both the gs300 and 400/430 diffs and neither of them would bolt on to the supra lsd unit i have. The gs300 and 400 are identical outside of the gear sets. Is there a difference in six speed or auto lsd units for the supra?

Well check with Rick on the pricing, he gave me some big breaks as my car was at his shop for awhile.

Well the tuning was just about done and right when Rick was heading to my house it lost spark on 4 cylinders! Turns out the Haltech fried the stock igniter, we installed a MSD Igniter/ignition apmlifier and the car is running better than ever now! I shoud have it back in the next day or two.

The MSD has a bad rep for failing often, decided to install a HKS DLI and a Haltech igniiter, Rick got it all wired up today, car is running great now. Looking to pick it up this weekend!

Well the car was just about done last week when I blew my 2nd igniter, first it was the factory one then the replacement Haltech igniter took a dive. We found the #1 coil was the culprit. I initally looked around for a replacement but then decided to pony up a bit more cash for GTE coils, this allows total control of each cylinder, plus I wasn't too happy with the size of the stock spark plug wires. I love this setup, very clean IMO.

Very nice Adam, which Haltech unit are you using to tune? and who is tuning it for you?

Thanks. Rick Bowers at SpeedTech in Merrit Island, the guy is a whiz with stand alones, installation and tuning. Same guy that did all of this work.

I'm running the E8, I would reccomend the E11 though. I had to buy the 2nd Haltech igniter and the AEM box due to the E8's shortcomings, witht he E11 that could have been avoided. The end result is about the same price, but the E11 keeps everything under one box.

Well I was all set to pick up my car when the PS pump failed, Rick was rushing to get it replaced and finish the tuning but the auto parts store sent the wrong pump, finally after getting the right pump on the car we found the PS pulley was stripped too, so the car didn't get done in time. I'm waiting for this weekend now, I think this will be better as Rick wil have come back refreshed and can easily tweak in the tuning some more, he is almost to the point where he works on the closed loop tune, this is where the Haltech will basically adjust itself to the air fuel mixture you give it at a a specific RPM / manifold pressure point. Once you get the tune within 5% or so just turn on the closed loop feature and the car will just automatically adjust itself to whatever the Innovate wideband is putting out, closed loop tuning is a must have for a street car where a change in weather can throw the car off into a lean / rich mixture.

A side note, Rick tells me the car is running 100% better with the individual coils, it really made a huge difference and the tuning is now going much smoother, so far he's run it at 15PSI and the car pulls like an animal! He did however tell me that the stock 3.92 rear end is horrible with the 5 speed R154 transmission, in 1st and 2nd gear he was just starting to build boost when he had to shift, with this monster Precision 74MM turbo I need the longer gearing. I located a 2001 GS400 rear with 3.26 gearing, I plan to install the TRD LSD unit into this rear for a bullit proof 3.26 rear end, good for over 1000RWHP.
