so is the magnaflow x pipe louder than just straight pipes??? coz i did the straight pipe and the difference is not that much..i want it to be louder...ahhaa
What do you mean by "straight pipes"? Are you saying that you have no connection (x-pipe, y-pipes, or h-pipe) between the left and right cylinder banks from the heads to the mufflers?

no he just removed his secondary cats and put pipes there.. and yes my set up is louder!! we can trade!
mine has no secondary cats.. then goes into the x pipe and then mufflers.. its all custom.. not like the stock y pipe into a resonator then y pipe out of resonator
Wow you really hate your exhaust. I'd like to see you try the Y-pipe setup. I was thinking about it myself. 2.5" pipe to 2.5/3" Y-pipe. Then 3" stright pipe with a inline 3" muffler. Y-pipe back to the HKS mufflers. Alot of the V8 guys like y-pipe setups and they sound alot better. DO IT DO IT DO IT!!!!

yea it sounds like a good setup.. but ive already spent so much money on this one.. i cant afford to start from scratch again
i dont hate it.. if i can keep it to sound similar to how it is now.. only with the other x pipe... these 15" resonated core magnaflow cats.. and mazzuri headers. then i will be happy.. and have some nice performance

ive done a little research.. and saw that some people have been getting headers and custom cat back exhaust.. but then use the oem mufflers at the end of the system.. for great performance gains.. and not nearly as loud as a straight through aftermarket muffler..
what do u guys think about that... i figure there will be maybe a 4 hp loss max?
Well, your only gaining @ 8 hp from a nice setup -4 hp = the same HP that most axleback exhausts give you.
yea, with the amount of hp i gain form headers i wont mind losing 4 rwhp, if it really does keep it that much quiter than a straight through muffler..
just wanted to see if anyone thinks it would be much more quiet..
