I've done this mod and it's not hard at all. Just don't look to gain any additional hp.

The coolant line going to your throttle body is designed to keep the throttle body from becoming frozen or stuck due to very very cold weather.
This is a very common DIY mod. By rerouting the coolant line from the throttle body you will keep the 180 degree coolant from heating the intake air.
If it doesnt get under 20 degrees where you live, then I would consider this mod. If you do really have a winter then keep it connected.
I have heard of people gaining around 2-3 HP from this. But keep in mind our throttle bodies are routed directly over the head (GS3), heat soak will probably keep the temp of the throttle body in the same range as the coolant would. So you are probably wasting your time.
my .02 cents

and don't waste your time with this mod. there's no point in doing a bypass when your TB sits on top of the engine.

I did it simply because those 2 extra hoses are a pain when changing spark plugs or working on the engine and you need to remove the throttle body. I was always tinkering with something on the engine all the time. Also, I have to change spark plugs every oil change 4-6k miles on my car. Performance plugs for a boosted motor don't last long lol.
