Ran low on funds lol. And also it's ceramic chroma coated, not polished. Good thing on the 2JZ-GTE, removing the intake manifold takes a whole 2 minutes vs 20-30min with the GE. I can just pull it off in the future when I want to get it done.

Love how the set up looks back in the bay. The single really opens up the clutterness on the left side of the motor from the factory twin set up. I really need to get my single project up and running soon. What turbo are you running again?

I got this block for a hell of a deal so I went with it. It's a 2JZ-GE block with brand new TT pistons/rods and all new bearings. I believe I paid about $1100 shipped for it. As for why I didn't go with the GTE. This is just a tempoary setup for now. I will be pulling this motor out in about a year or two in exhange for a fully built 3.4L stroker motor. Also, one other thing the GTE oil squirters are only useful with the stock pistons(factory made oil passages). With aftermarket pistons the oil squirters do jack. I haven't had any first hand experience with it, but that's what I was told by several experienced supra tuners.

lol...it's funny you ask since I was just talking to my friend about that. But anyways it's been down for about 2.5months now. These past few weeks have been pretty hectic so no time to finish it for a little while. I'd say total downtime for my whole project is gona be right around 3months give or take a week or two

Thanks, getting compliments from a big timer ol' G like you makes this project/time spent all worth it lol. As for the turbo it's just a "small" Turbonetics T62-1 for now. I think the maximum power output on this unit is only about 500whp or so. Once I've outgrown this setup and need more speed, I'm gonna be throwing in a GT4092(approx $2k) or a HKS T51R(approx $3k)...both are decently large turbos(not to mention expensive lol) with ball bearings.

You should have gone with forged pistons rather than the oem tt 2jzgte pistons. The rods are more than capable for what you are trying to achieve, but the pistons will be your demise. I was making 600whp on a stock vvti 2jzgte longblock w/ the blitz twin turbo set up and after two years I had two or three pistons warp and or melt. I suggest getting a dual feed fuel rail as I think with my hks one the fuel took the path of least resistance and therefore the rear two cylinders had more detonation, warping, and melting...Watch out for bad tanks of gas as well, if possible use >91 octane. Good luck to you!

He's using the Stock TT non-VVTi Pistons, much better piston than the VVTi piston. The Stock TT non-VVTi Pistons have made 1000rwhp on the stock bottom, no worries at the 800rwhp or under level.
