Currently there's a PT67 DBB watercooled turbo on the car. Soon to be a 74mm or 76mm turbo and some insane head and bottom end work. I want this Lexus to rev to 9000rpm
Damn man this is one beautiful engine............. congrats on the 2J VVT-i Turbo build up.

Jeff.... This is Orgasm .. stop giving me Hardons !

im going through the same thing.. but at this moment.. my car is haveing a tranny conversion.. from 4 speed auto to the 5 sped v154 and a Triple plate clutch Osgeiken ! 1000cc sard injectors..double Walbro intank fuel pumps.. Sard line and regulator ! and a T51R BB.... !

why r u guys.. soo into the VVTI head.. while here in UAE.. its exactly the opposite... the prefer working on non-VVTI heads.. which im thinking of doing ! yes... selling my VVTI head.. and getting a non-vvti one installed !

but question is.... will my Navi/Screen/Dashboard work with the normal 2jzgte harness... ??? (becase 2jzgte harness will have to be changed if i change the head to a non-VVTI head)

Jeff.. your posts are awesome.. very very very imformative.. !
its Appreciated !

Wow, I am very amazed. Recently, I have only gotten a used 1999 Lexus GS300 with a 2JZ-GE VVTI, but frankly this is my second car. First one being a 1993 Nissan Maxima GXE. After stumbling upon this great find, I've grown more interest in the potential I have of my car. Although currently I am attending school still and soon to be busy with college, I would hope to have a car equivalent to yours in the future years if I could ever learn how to... Also, sorry if this comment/reply is a tad outdated.

Any updates?

You said that your goal is to get it up to 9000rpm. Do you want to break any records?

Nah, no records. I just want a decently quick car I can cruise around on the weekends. My goals for this car is to run a mid 10 second quarter with full weight including system(total vehicle weight with driver approx 4200lbs). Power goal is approx 800rwhp and rev target is 8000-8500rpm.

I might eventually build another car in the future to break records, but this car will not be.
