Turbo Build Diary: Vol. 2, 2JZ-GTE VVT-i Conversion
I stumbled across one for cheap over on the IS forums. I kinda regret piecing together the motor now though. Too many small parts here and there missing. It would of been a lot easier if I just started out buying the complete 2JZ-GTE VVTi motor rather than putting one together like I'm doing right now. I'd recommend any of you guys planning to do a swap to buy the complete motor.
gah! coulda told me. I know someone who is selling a complete 2jz-gte engine that is completely rebuilt with brand new internal parts for $2k.
We were going to drop the engine in a GS300, but the owner went out and bought 2 more GS400s so the GS300 isn't a priority anymore

Cool, I shaved off that front tab that holds the coolant line also.
Jeff, if you need a spare throttle body (minus the TPS). Let me know. I'll let you have it for cheap. I picked it up back then for $250

Few updates as of today.
- Picked up the plastic engine cover from the body shop. Repainted a dark metallic blue. Looks very nice and is very shiny
- Picked up repaired and modified bumper(OEM bumper with bottom grille cut out + TTE Lip molded in) from body shop
- Rerouted some new intercooler piping...woohoo my foglights can finally go back in!
Bottom pic shows how low my car sits to the ground. Literally about 3" of ground clearance
