Universal Turbo Systems
Thought you guys might want to check this out. Alternative universal turbo system for V8 engines with less room to play with under the engine bay.

It is a very neat design. I considered this for my RX300, but I plan to use a different kind of turbo, http://www.hiperturbo.com/ that does not use an oil line.
I had a friend at my track who installed a system like this in his Camaro...no lag whatsoever.
Only issue I have with this is in the vicious rain we get down here you have to be careful about water issues.

A turbo works better closer to the motor. The hotter the exhaust gas, the more exhaust volume. More exhaust volume = greater velocity through the pipes = faster spool. The further down the exhaust line you go the cooler the exhaust gets. Which gives you less velocity and a slower turbo spool. It will work but its not nearly as good as most manifold placed turbos. It works for confined / tight spaces but I wouldnt do it. And all the intercooler pipes run under the car would be a mess to deal with.

I saw this on a mustang forum (corral.net i believe) and they all pretty much thought it was a neat concept, but pretty much useless due to the reasons already listed by KiPod. It will add boost yes, but not as much as you'd expect. Cheaper/easier/more efficient to go blown via s/c.

A guy at my school has a Silverado SS with this system. He was pretty disappointed with it. He had major heat issues with the intake charge and ended having to do an intercooler in the end. It helped but that defeats alot of the purpose of this system which is supposed to cool enough by the time it gets to the intake manifold so you don't need an intercooler.
