Welcome to Club Lexus! If you haven't already, check out our FAQ's, you'll find tons of answers very quickly. This particular thread will be right at home in our Performance sub-forum... See you on the boards!
Isn't this a bit of an oxymoron??? A student on a tight budget, yet he is driving a Lexus. Times have changed. When I was a student back in the 70's my GF, now wife, was living high off the hog with a base Toyota Corolla, one of the first in the USA.
not much you can do yet....
there arent even springs specific for the AWD...
but engine mod wise, not much out on the market except for kits and mufflers

I thought students on tight budgets drove '96 Civics??
For performance and AWD you should go after a new Evo or STI.
For less performance than the STI and EVO but includes some luxury and awd look into the A4, 335ix etc. They will be a bit more expensive but also offer a good amount of mods.
Most get the 250 AWD for the quality of a Lexus and awd features but it by no means has the power of the 350. With every option on the 250 awd I bought for the wife it was 44k out the door but she wanted all the goodies, decent mileage and has enough power for her.

Less than 5% if you are really lucky. Honest truth, you bought the wrong car. Decide if you want to keep it. If you want to keep it, enjoy it as it is and save your money for a more performance oriented car when you graduate and can afford to buy a genuinely faster car.
For less performance but includes some luxury and awd look into the S4, 335ix etc. They will be about the same price if not a little cheaper than the IS250AWD.
No, the S4 and 335xi are both significantly more expensive. The price of a base S4 is around $13,000 more than a base IS250 AWD, and the price of a base 335xi is around $6,000 more.
Sorry, meant the A4. When I optioned out my 250 awd then went after comparable A4 and 335ix the 250 was only 2k cheaper as both Audi and BMW were willing to give a much larger discount than Lexus.
