Default L Tuned Exhaust

Can you put a L-Tuned exhaust made for a GS400 onto a GS300? Will it sound the same and will it fit the same or does it need to be modified? Thanks

I can't comment on the physical compatability.

Sound ... sound is based on voulme and frequency of air burst from the engine. So expect a difference. The note on GS400 is different at different rpm.

They do fit on both the GS300 and GS4 because I bought mine from a GS400 owner and I have a GS300 and it fitted perfectly..

i do recall that there are gs300 and gs400/430 specific l-tuned exhaust. the gs300 had a longer muffler section due to droning. the exhaust fits all gs regardless of motor size.

In the end, all 2nd gen GS exhausts are interchangeable.

I don't think there is a difference with that exhaust either because I have a GS300 and I bought it from another member that has a GS430. The only thing is that the tips stick out some but the exhaust is great.

My l-tuned came off a GS400 onto my GS300 and I think it sounds awesome...my gas mileage is sucking though because I like to mash the pedal more often lol..

Muffler size is the same because they did not make two different exhaust for the GS3 and GS4. The droning is due to how much air is pushed out at different rpms therefore the drone is different from the I6 and V8 in the GS300 and GS4.

well when they had the group buy not too long ago, it was specified that the mufflers were for GS300 i think, but would fit a GS400 too. here is the link

here is another discussion on differences

from carson toyota:

They originally made (2) different exhausts, one for the GS300 and the other for the GS400,430, these are direct-bolt on systems, the only difference is the GS300's canisters are longer to reduce resonance, this is what we have in stock and will fit all 2nd Gen GS models

thanks sockfocks for the links, i knew i read this somewhere.
