You paid $$$ for Tanabe and now you're putting a silencer? Might as well put back the stock and just sell your Tanabe. Just a suggestion.

 

yeah i dunno how much quieter you can get with the tanabe. i actually thought about trading up to the hks because the tanabe was quiet but i think im satisfied with it. it will probably get a little bit quieter over the next few weeks. if u want quiet with a nicer look, maybe keep the stock setup and just get new tips...

I found the problem! I noticed that my trunk by-pass was open. Not the arm rest inside the cabin, but the plastic door. Once I closed this, everything is perfect. I can't believe it made such a difference! Just the sound I wanted and most importantly I get to keep the look.

 

Just drove my friend's IS350 with a Tanabe and it sounded a little bit louder than a G35 but not too loud. I kinda like it coz it's not loud at all inside the cabin. BTW I'm glad you found the problem. Now I have peace of mind and decided to go with the Tanabe.

 

I applied this approach and it works perfectly everytime.

 

As some else said, why did you get after market exhausts in the first place...?
