Default Tanabe too loud?

I just had my Tanabe Exhaust installed and I think its too loud. Above 3K rpm, it is nonexistent, but anywhere under that and I can HEAR it. I mean really hear it. Its almost to a point where there is a drone.

Those of you that have had one, did it mellow out over time? and was it this loud at first???

I hope I just didnt waste $$$$

I don't have a Tanabe, but I've ridden in a few, and it's hardly noticable. I would wait for it to mellow out a bit because exhaust DO break in. Also, Tanabe is as far as I know the quietest exhaust system out there so if it's too loud you're probably better off with stock :/

Push the "+" button on your steering wheel and the problem goes away. I actually found mine to get a little bit louder but no it does not go away.

Tanabe is one of the quietest, had mine a month, sound hasn't changed. If you don't want a exhaust tone, why buy an exhaust, hope it wasn't for the HP gains.....

Too loud compared to what? Stock? The Tanabe is the quietest of the aftermarket exhausts - so if you're looking for something "quieter," I hope you kept your stock exhaust setup.

that's right....I think you should stick with stock. Most of us use to have aftermarket exhaust that is loud, compare to tanabe...Therefore, tanabe is not a problem for our ear....

Bought it for the looks, it looks great on the car. I truly believe getting any gains on this car can only be done with FI.

Does anyone think if I dynamat the trunk and rear doors it will not be as loud in the cabin?

I think you should give it at least a couple of weeks. Even tanabe says the sound will change. Look for some previous posts. I think some people posted followups after a little while.

Make sure it's installed correctly. You could have it installed to where it has a leak.
Also try to find someone else in your area who has one so you can compare.
