Default Just installed a Tanabe Exhaust

I just finished installing my new Tanabe exhaust, from start to finish took 20 minutes. Got to say I love it, sounds alot like the 350Z with the Nismo exhaust I had, which I thought was one of the best sounding exhaust's. Real simple installation. And for those wondering what that black thing is on the driver's side muffler, I called my buddy at Lexus and he said it is a counter weight for balance. I also called Tanabe to see if it should be moved onto the new exhaust and they said it is not needed. When I get a chance tomorrow I will take a pic of it, if anybody has any interest.

you think so? i also had a 350ZR w/ nismo exhaust and they don't sound the alike to me. the nismo is meaner and louder for sure. the tanabe on my IS350 is quiet after 3k rpm...it's actually loudest (though still pretty quiet) below 3k rpm. i've only had it for 3 days and so far i would have to give it a

From what I remember it sounds alot like the Z, not exactly like it, but close, but I am only took the car out for like a 5 min test drive. I agreed the Nismo is a little meaner sounding, but don't think it was that much louder, think the volume on the Z and the Tanabe are about the same.

I agree with since5oh about the Tanabe sound. It is quiet at low revs and is probably at its loudest right after you start the car. And the sound will continue to mellow out over time. Unless you're really hammering it, mine is really too quiet after just a a few months on the car.

Well I will have to know you know after a few months that I have it on the car, but if it get a little quieter after a couple of months, I can live with that, I really got it more for the looks, didn't want something really loud, just loud enough to hear the car running.

Can you add a sound clip by the way? Anybody that has sound clips of their exhaust systems, post here. I seriously want an upgrade. The IS's are too quiet, arghhh!!!!

All my cars in the past all have upgraded exhaust systems, but dead loud. I want one that is more toned down but like the G35 sounds or the 350Z. Which is why I like to hear the sound clips first........

I am still waiting to have my Tanabe put on. How about this, I went to bed last night at 3 a.m. and then I woke up at 10 to 8 inches of snow. I was suppposed to get my exhaust on this week, I'm bummed. I dont wanna put it on in this bad weather.

but honestly, I cant wait, I went on a little cruise with my buddy the other weekend, It was close to 60 and sunny. He took his GSXR out and we took some windy back roads through the good ole' Appalachians. I could hardly hear my car and i over-reved many times unfortunately. Hopefully the exhaust will help with that. what do ya'll think?

I was planning on posting some sound clips, but I wanted to wait until the exhaust is broken in. Because then you will truely know what it is going to really sound like. I can post some pics though for you to see what it looks like this weekend. Didn't have time to take pics when I installed, friggin UPS didn't deliver it until 9:05pm, so me and my wife put it on real quick, went for a quick ride to hear it, and then went to bed, we both had to get up at 4:30am for work. But will try and post some pics this weekend.

Yes, I consider the LMS, but I really didn't want a loud exhaust, and I really don't like the look of the tips on the LMS, it just wasn't for me.

Have noticed any drone? Or is there anything about it that annoys you?

Haven't noticed any drone at all, and really there's nothing about the exhaust I don't like. It is exactly what I wanted, looks good and sounds good (not too loud).
