Default Prob. Area51 intake Help

I had my Area51 Inyake in for about a month now and I have went thru about 2-3 tanks of gas so far. Im losing gas mileage. When i first put it on I thought the low mileage was from the car relearning all over again. But after 2-3 tanks im still getting around 200-215miles a tank (from full to light). I use to get a average of 250-270 with the stock intake. What could be wrong? I have no check engine lights. When i first put it on I felt the gains and difference, now I really dont. It feels slower or sluggish. The first tank I drove hard, now im driving like a grandma and still 200-215miles. I get about 45-50miles every 1/4 tank. Somebody help me out. I doubt its a prob with the intake, and probably something with a connection im over looking, but you never know. I need help...........someone

I see some others with the Area51 intake are getting improved gas mileage, so something has to be wrong. I have had the ecu-trac replacement done already. Is there anyway to check if the wire are making a connection when they are taped into? Thats the only thing that I can think of at this point. Maybe I'll sodier the wires together and take out the wire tapes. ???????????????

I think I saw something about the area 51 intake needing to be
reset (disconnect the negative cable on battery for about 2 mins)
some other people were having the same problem.
You may want to run a search or call Dave from area 51, he is the
one who posted about the reset. I am not sure if it was here
or on is300.net.

I dont think it has to be reset yet. Its only been a few weeks since the install. And if I was getting low mileage from the date of install then it could be possilbe that the intake was never hooked up right. Maybe my mind just wanted to feel the difference im gonna play around with it for the next few days then if nothing changes it will be in the for sale forum. Not for being a bad product, just cause I dont have the patience to keep playing with it.

If what you're feeling is sluggish performance, I'd seriously think about what Tampa_IS said and reset the ECU. The time that it takes the car to readjust to the new intake (and cause the slowness) has been everywhere from a few months to a few weeks...

If you want to keep it, then just try resetting the ECU... and if that doesn't work, get a refund. Why sell something that doesn't work ? You surely don't want someone else to have to go through what you are... or maybe you do.

Ok I reset the computer by diconnecting the neg battery terminal. I also looked over all the wire connections and I found a wire that was being crushed when the ecu lid was screwed back down. Some of the insulation on the wire was striped so I taped it up and made sure it was pushed inside this time. So far I notice the car jumps when given gas and gears are rough.

I dont drive too hard, and if I do its not for the whole gas tank or everytime I get in the car. I will see after this tank. I played with a older rx7 lastnight with some mods, since it was loud and buzzing (Maybe it was broke ). Anyways he would pull in 1st and 2nd, but from the end of 3rd(60-70mph) to 5th I would pull and pass him. This car gets up to 120 with ease and I notice its still wants to go. I still dont know if this think is working for sure. It prolly is and im just a idiot!
