Default Questions about welding on exhaust tips in No VA

Hey, I recently got my my exhaust tips off ebay. After a delay due to a mix up with my address.

Anyway, I bought these off ebay.(the pic on ebay was wrong BTW, but the tips are still nice)

MagnaFlow SS Tip - DW - Rolled - Angle 4" - 35127
4.5" maximum length
4" round diamter
2.5" inlet

I need the total length from the Exhaust canister to the longest edge of the tip to be 5.75"(or slightly more, but no less)

My questions are
A) Does the Exhaust have to be dropped to have these installed?

B) How much should I expect to pay? The Old tips pull off, but there is still a tip-like part there, that has to be cut to 1.25"

C) Any suggestions for shops in VA? other than Meineke, and midas? I would like to make sure that the tips are on straight.

These guys are very good and are big with the EVO community. I will be using their services to do my exhaust when the time comes along with getting my tires installed in a few months. BTW Why only exhaust tips? If I were you I'd get the magnaflow mufflers as well.

**edit** nevermind about the tips. I saw in a previous post you aren't looking for any more power, just hate the look of the stock tips. Post some photos once you get it done.

Did you buy the same tips? From that performance_curve guy on ebay. I did the Submit offer and got mine for $65+tax, since he is in VA. Not too shabby.

Where are you going to get it installed?

Hey, I dont know if you remember me, but I bought your intake off you. Then sold it. I think the 350 is powerful enough, so I just need to do some appearance mods.

How could I forget you! I do recall you were very worried about how loud the LMS intake was going to be, so that was reason enough to assume the same for the exhaust. Give VIP Garage a call and they'll hook you up. They love the new IS350 and have been itching to work in mine.

I had my exhaust tips installed months ago. It had to be cut so it doesn't stick out too much. Once the stock tips are pulled off, the tips comming out of the muffler had to be cut also. After that, they were welded on to what was left (about 1.5"). Both tips are on solid and were perfectly positioned after welding. Today they are still on solid but the driver side is lower by about .25". So test fit your aftermarket tips first. If they don't go in all the way, you may have to customize a bit. I went to a local Midas shop here in CA and paid $50 per tip because they had to customize.

yep, those are the same exact tips i was planning on ordering along with a pair of mufflers. i think that they look alot like the stock tips, just a bit larger. i know our cars need as short a tip as possible. i know if i was just to have that welded it probably would cost me $25 max here from my local muffler shop. i would try to find a shop the just does mufflers and not one of these chain type stores like Midas.
