I drive a 2001 Lexus IS 300 and I want to add some more HP. What ways can I go besides the intake headers and exhuast. I was thinking doing a port the heads. Is this safe for my car. I have 91k miles on thecar. I was thinking of getting a new car but I really like the IS 300. Does anybody have some advice. I have also been considering adding a supercharger. Thanks in advance
well you only have 1 head..and yes you could port it and add some cams..but your really not going to get a nice power goal without some sort of power adder..
hope you already have intake, headers and exhuast because you have to start there. them raising your fuel, there is a vvt controller that will also adjust your a/f ratio, you might want to take a look at that. there is alot of ways you can go. it's up to you to know what kind of money you want to spend and what kind of power you want to achive.
Well The IS300 has a lot of potential but it comes with a cost. I would love to get a s/c or t/c but things you have to consider tires/brakes/transmission upgrades/ gauges/cost of boost/install and most of all, do you have a spare car if something does go wrong.
So I decided to keep the car n/a. I'm hoping to get 215-225rwhp with my set up. I will be running injen intake/mazzuri full race exhaust/cam gear/VB upgrade/tuned with SAFC II I'm just waiting to order the mazzuri system in few weeks.
And again it all boils down to how much power you want. Plus I do have a baby girl and just build a house so my expenses are going somewhere else.
