Seeing that it is your first car, and your first post. We all want a punch when we kick the throttle, but...I will be the one to say...
People always overlook the fact that their cars have more than enough have power to get into trouble, unfortunately some come to realize this fact the inconvenient way.
Now to answer your question, it is hard making power out of a naturally aspirated engine without spending a lot of money. However, yes people often go with the exhaust , intake, headers route.
There's a many manufactures to select from in the market. Most of the pieces will give similar results in terms of power.
Intake - Ebay intake kit may work, just don't use the Ebay filter from the kits though. (Make sure the piping has a location for the Mass Air Flow Sensor as factory)
Exhaust - Many choose based on the sound of the specific exhaust, so you decide what you think is best sounding!
Headers - Expect CEL to arise, but it is very simple to clear. (Many thread on here which can elaborate)
Not sure how long you have had the car, but I hope you enjoy the ride and drive safe!

Swap 4.30 ring and pinion in the diff from a mk3 supra. You will see better gains with this compared to cheap intake and header. You'll be quicker but top speed will suffer.
