So im thinking about getting the SRT intake,my car feels really quick in the morning (6 am) at 78-ish F BUT slow at noon (12 PM) at 118-ish F.so my question is will the intake be able to give COLD air to the engine despite the hot weather ?!
The SRT wont help. It's a short ram intake and the heat shield, cover, whatever you like to call it is not effective. It wont defy physics. Laws of Thermodynamics will eventually take place. The air inside the airbox vs the air inside the engine bay will be about the same temperature.
If cold air is your goal, you'll need to go with a real cold air intake, but there are none for the GS.
You're not going to be able to work around the 118 degree temperature. Which GS do you have? A header and an exhaust system is what I would do personally. It cost more than an intake, but at least the power gain wont be as temperature dependent.
Sorry AJ, but 118F will still be 118F with the SRT. You won't get around the hot air problem. You'll get MORE air, but it will still be hot at 118F.
I kind of agree with GSTeg, perhaps a header and custom exhaust is better since it's not as dependant on the ambient air temperature. You'll still feel those gains during the hot temps.
