View Poll Results: Did you buy the "JB Headers" for your V8 Lexus?
Voters: 19. You may not vote on this poll
POLL: Do you have the JB/S&S HEADERS?
Might also check w/ the SC400& LS 400/430 guys I know a few of them have the headers installed I can think of 3 SC guys.
I got one of the 2nd batch ones. Correct me if I'm wrong but the 2nd batch is when they changed the weld on the header to cat flang. welded it on the inside instead of the out side ??

You are correct Gil.
Thanks for the tip, I really should check with the other guys. Maybe moderator can help out with a cross-post.

well....I believe BA_GS400 and TeeLex are the only reported leaks and according to the poll there are ONLY 12 in the GS forum that have gone through install. I cant believe there is not more!! Get them installed or sell them!!!
Aren't we on our 2nd or 3rd batch already??? Weren't these 20 unit lots?
S&S is obviously willing to replace any headers that crack...
IMO the headers are still worth dealing with any issues.....considering how custom this project has been and the amount of time that has gone into them.....I'm very grateful regardless if I have to re-install.
Thanks to BA_GS4OO and TeeLex for documenting the leaks and posting pics.
Cheers again to JBrady and S&S!!

I had them installed last spring [think mine were first batch]. My mechanic recommended getting some extra welding around the pipe/flange areas as he had seen similar designs fail. Cost an extra $80-$100 for the peace of mind. No leaks or issues other issues.
Most of the norcal folks that purchased have them installed.

Hey Red, I don't see you much in this forum man but I know I've seen ya here for a long long time.
Have you heard of any cracking from the norcal folks you referenced? And more specifically, do they drive like an old lady, or do they see top end or 1/4 mile runs? Seems that the serious heat cycling of the header might be a contributing factor which pansy driving probably wouldn't bring to light.

I have not heard of any Norcal failures. I tend to drive "mildly" aggresive with a fair share of hard launches and e-shift maintained higher RPM runs. Outside of RMMGS4 and his almost trailer queen, I am probably the least aggressive of us.
Three of us had 5+ 1/4 mile passes at Infineon and multiple dyno sessions (all opportunities for serious heat cycling). Next time I get the car racked I'll try to take a closer look.

Another one from the NorCal crew here. Headers were installed and no problems so far. So, if mine cracks, S&S won't have any problems replacing it under warranty. Mine are from the first batch also. I mix my driving habits. From gas saver to ***** to the walls, pedal to the metal aggresive driving. So far so good. Also have added the custom X pipe to mine. I just love the way it sounds. I was there at Infineon and the dyno runs too with redgs4 and RMMGS4. Have not dynoed after X pipe install though.
