Good enough? Do you mean is it worth it on it's own? It sure is! Either one (TC or the 3.76 geared rear-end) is something you will feel everytime you drive your car. Everytime.

The TC probably gives more of a gain in a quarter-mile drag race from a dead stop but one the car is rolling and above 3000rpm in 1st gear the TC has already done it's job.
If the car is rolling along at about 30mph+ and you punch it, the TC will not really come into play, although it does seem to make the car down shift a little quicker, without the lag.

The gearing will be heard/felt at any rpm when you hit the pedal.

FWIW, I have the TC now, but a stock rear-end. I have one in the garage ready to go in though. The TC is FUN, makes the car a joy to drive!

COST: The TC can run you $700 - $800 I believe, and you can count on paying $300 - $600 for an installation. (based upon mine and others cost)

The rear-end can be anywhere from $700 - $1300 (new or used) but the installation is a little easier and may be 100-200 bucks cheaper than the TC installation. (I'm guessing based upon the work it takes to the swap)

You'll probably get differing opinions but if I had to vote for one or the other, I would vote for the TC first in almost all cases UNLESS someone does a LOT of highway driving. The gearing would be more useful/fun for the highway driver.
