The next step is the Supra LSD cuz that keeps the traction in balance and the VSC from piping up. And the gearing makes the car even quicker.
It's definitely next in line.

you can do the TC and not do the rearend if you wanted to.

theoretically, if you drive hard to where the converter is frequently in slip mode, and you don't have a cooler, you will burn the tranny fluid and it will lose it's lubricity. This will hurt the clutches in your tranny.

The cooler is only about $45 on top of the $700 torque converter, not counting installation costs. Why would anyone not use the cooler?

Please search for 'cooler' in this forum and you'll get lots of information Instant answers, no waiting:

Some examples I found right away

Many more out there...

I used my TC without a tranny cooler for probably a year with no detrimental results five years later. BUT as soon as I knew I was going to take my car to the track for extended hard driving, I put one in. It's cheap insurance - should have done it day one.

I hear ya Dave!

I must be harder on the go-pedal than I thought. I smelled heated tranny fluid within 2 weeks of my installation! .....ok, ok, it was admittedly while chasing my buddy around city streets in his 2005 Vette.

I put in my cooler asap after that!
