Its very possible. My friend Eric owns TTCperformance.com and they sell adapter plates for the getrag to Lexus V8. He also sell a tilton type clutch for a very decent price.
I have all my pedals ready and should be picking up my getrag on monday or tuesday, but i'll be mating it up to my 2jzgte to swap in my gs300.
The only think I want/need is the gs400's 3.26 rear end. The gearing just wouldn't be right with the 3.9X like I have in my GS3.

I'm going standalone with my setup, so it really doesn't matter. But I'm sure with a stock gs with a 6 speed swap, all you have to do is wire up the reverse lights and bypass the nuetral safty switch.
would like to shed a little light on this and try to keep it simple.
Engine swaps, basically the engine runs buy itself and the car runs itself. So if you think about it its pretty simple right?
Now there are quite a few engine/car functions that do want signals from the engine/car so that is where the tricky part comes in. You must get them to communicate and feed these functions what they want in order to work.
If you stick with a engine that is close in year and generation and has the same functions life is a little easier.
So you need to know as much as you can about the engineset your using and as much as you can about the car to be successful.
Hope this helps out a little bit and keep in mind I make it seem easier than it really is, as there I s allot of custom work involved and probably best left to some one who has the experience and knowledge of your particular set up.
Robert is right, the trick on a motor swap is to get the motor and chassis to sync up. That's the whole ball of wax. With the 6 speed swap, it's doable, and we've made it a lot easier with the adapter plates, but it's still tricky. Todd at TM Engineering is currently carrying our adapter plates if you have any questions regarding the swap.
