Default 2jz-gte Conversion

Just wanted to say hello to all you Lexus fans out there. I have been going on this site for the last year and have found a lot of useful information. Thanks to all. I haven't really contributed though. I figured now is a good time. I only have some basic upgrades so far : Axis rims 19X9.5 rear and 19 X8.5 front , Tanabe springs, cross drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic pads, Blitz intake, HKS dual exhaust and JL Audio set up. the car is a 98 GS300. I have been saving and am going on the boost tomorrow. I bought a 2jz-gte VVT-i Twin Turbo engine and tranny about 5 months ago and have been buying parts to single it . I have most of it now.I also got the LSD for the rear. Figured I would start sharing some info on the project because there weren't many users with that set up. Just my 2 cents. I have to figure out how to put pictures on here??

Well today I take the engine out! Damn I'm excited. To answer your question, it came with a 4 speed auto(with a manual mode ) I just have to figure out if I can upgrade my steering wheel with the buttons? Here's a quick list of whats going in today.

VVT-i Aristo motor and tranny
precision turbo GT40-67
precision intercooler 750hp
custom manifold by MTR heat coated
Tial 44mm wastegate
Tial blow off valve

I'll keep you posted. I'm leaving the fuel stock until I get the engine running, except for some minor lines that need to be run. I took a pic with my phone last night. I'll get better ones.

Good luck with this. You would be trying to use a computer set up to shift a 5-speed automatic to shift the new aristo 4-speed.

This is a great thread lets keep it going. There have been a few threads here and there but noone really has gotten into specifics or details. It would be great if you could include more photos and or issues that you come across and tell us how you resolved them. Input from everyone would make this a very informative thread.

Burton is also doing this swap as we speak. Check his recent thread here:

Hey Ben I was thinking the same thing
